Testimony by Lanie Gonzales

PRAISE BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST... GOD IS REALLY GOOD, AND HE IS GOOD ALL THE TIME! There is nothing I asked of HIM that HE did not answer.

Allow me to share some of my experiences on how the LORD GOD let me feel HIS presence, how HE let me see HIM through HIS wondrous touch and actions in my own life. First, I want to mention about my youngest son. He is a BSE graduate but is so hesitant in putting his teaching profession into practice.  No matter how hard I push him, he kept on disregarding his profession and putting his interest on something else.  Every time I say my prayer, I ask GOD to give my son the wisdom to do the right things… things that are good for him. And THANK GOD, one day, my son told me that he was asked by a friend to teach in their school and by August this year (2008), he will start to review for the teacher’s board exam this coming October, and that’s really nice. I know it was HIM who made the way; I am so happy that my prayer for my son has been answered. GOD IS REALLY GREAT!

The other experience that I want to share happened in January of 2008 when I was invited by a friend to visit and join her in her Care Home in Oregon.  During my first two weeks of stay, I find her nice and accommodating although the workload is some kind of hard and her patients are all highly maintained. I tried hard to cope up with it and after a couple of weeks, I’ve noticed the sudden change of her actions. She became really hard to deal with and until one time, something happened between me and her… she was so disrespectful and made me think of leaving her place if I got the chance to. Although I paid her back the air-fare that she provided me before, I didn’t have the courage to tell her about my plan of leaving her place for I don’t want to hurt her feelings. Actually it was my best friend Evelyn who introduced me to the wife of her friend who have a home care in Oregon,  and i would like to make a special mention that it was through her effort why I was able to work in Oregon as a care giver. Evelyn was also one of the reason why I am finding it hard to exit from that post, I don't want her to get embarrassed. Two days after the incident, I made a phone call to my stepdaughter in California crying and telling her about what happened to me.

After our phone conversation, I didn’t know that she called her sister-in-law regarding my situation. That night, I found myself asking GOD to help me find a good escape and to help me say what I want to say, I spoke to HIM and told HIM that… “GOD, I know that it was YOU who allowed me to go to this place. I know that YOU can see I am in pain right now. I am asking YOU to please help me get out of here. Please speak for me the soonest time or it would be hard for me to endure anymore.” Believe me folks, GOD IS REALLY GOOD. The next day, I got a phone call from my daughter-in-law and she said that she knows the situation I am in; she is willing to buy me a plane ticket going to California so I don’t need to worry on anything anymore. On that same day, my stepdaughter also called up telling me that she got a job for me. That’s AMAZING! THE ANSWER IS SO FAST! I knew the moment I was able to speak with my friend, GOD has answered my prayer and given me the courage to tell my friend that I am very sorry to break my commitment with her on helping her and staying with her. I was so brave but full of empathy telling her that I came up with a tough decision leaving her. Then she asked me to stay with her for at least two more weeks until her sister arrived from the Philippines to help her. And there it goes, after that fine conversation, I got a swift exit and I knew it was HIM who spoke for me. The HOLY SPIRIT guided me and had given me the words. I understand that my friend didn't like my decision, but that's ok, what matters most is that I was able to say what I wanna say and on the day of my departure, we had a good bye-bye moment, we kissed and hugged and that's it, PRAISE YOU LORD, AMEN. Marge Evie, thank you so much for the never ending kindness  and support that you always extend to me and to my family, I am very grateful for having a friend like you.

PRAISE GOD, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH HIM. HE ALWAYS ANSWERS MY PRAYERS... OUR PRAYERS AND HE ALWAYS GIVES THE REST… and THE BEST. I am inviting you all not to loose hope, have a strong faith in GOD for I believe that HE never fails us for HE promised that HE will never forsake us, FOR GOD LOVES US SO MUCH. Amen!
